About Jody
Joann “Jody” Elizabeth LeCornu was a 23-year-old student at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland at the time she was viciously murdered. She was a very beloved and adored daughter of John and Linda LeCornu. John was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, a retired colonel in the Marine Corps and an Assistant State’s Attorney for Anne Arundel County where he prosecuted drug and violent crimes.
Jody spent her growing up years in Annapolis, Maryland with her three sisters—Laura, Diane and Jenny, her identical twin. Jody is described—by anyone who knew or encountered her—as unfailingly kind and generous. Jody was a spirited, effervescent young woman. She treated anyone she knew or met with the same openness, friendliness and kindness. Jody did not know a stranger. There are stories of her offering the shirt she was wearing to someone who admired it or needed one. Jody had a big heart and was full of life and joy despite her struggles. To know Jody truly was to love her.
Jody was a sunbeam in our lives.
— John and Linda LeCornu, parents
Jody fully enjoyed many of the interests of a young woman her age. She was outgoing and social. She had a flair for fashion and makeup. In the innocence of her youth, she loved Christmas and bunnies were a favorite of hers. Oftentimes—just when her twin, Jenny, needs consolation and continued strength to carry on in her mission—she will notice a bunny appear...surely a message of encouragement from Jody.
